The Energy Department will present a live webinar titled “Davis-Bacon Act Compliance” on Tuesday, November 18, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The Technical Assistance Program (TAP) provides state, local, and tribal officials with resources to advance successful, high-impact, and long-lasting clean energy policies, programs, and projects. This TAP webinar will offer information for Energy Department grantees, sub-grantees, and their contractors on complying with Davis-Bacon Act requirements. Eva Auman with the Energy Department's Office of the General Counsel will cover background on the Davis-Bacon Act and discuss implications for grant recipients and sub-grant recipients, including wage determinations, the collection of certified payrolls, and monitoring visits to construction work sites.

The Energy Department will present live webinars titled “Better Buildings Residential Program Solution Center” on Thursday, November 13, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time and on Wednesday, November 19, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The Solution Center offers step-by-step suggestions, templates, case studies and other resources. Users can find information regarding business models, program designs, marketing & outreach, financing, contractor engagement, workforce development, and evaluation & data collection.
The webinars will share lessons learned from the Better Buildings Neighborhood Program and others and explain the how the new Solution Center can help program administrators and partners design, implement, and evaluate residential energy efficiency programs.

Numerous applications of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies could benefit from the development of next-generation power electronics based on wide bandgap semiconductor materials. Examples include the development of reliable, efficient, compact and cost-effective power electronics for applications such as fuel cell powered material handling equipment and fuel cell electric vehicles for the consumer- and mass-transit sectors.

The Energy Department presented a live webinar titled “PACE Financing for Energy Efficiency: Success Stories” on Tuesday, October 7. The webinar features Better Buildings Challenge Partners who describe their successful experiences with property assessed clean energy (PACE) financing as program developers, city administrators, and property owners. PACE financing is a vehicle to pay for energy efficiency improvements or renewable energy installations on private property. Local or state governments and other organizations fund the upfront costs of the improvements, which are paid back over time through property assessments added to the owner’s property tax bills.
